Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced and detailed the Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Combo Pack release of director Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad, starring an all-star cast that includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Peña and Robert Patrick. The period action drama streets on April 23rd.

he Blu-ray edition of Gangster Squad features a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track and both a DVD and UltraViolet digital copy (expires 4/23/15). Extras include:

There'll be those who wholeheartedly enjoy Gangster Squad. Then there will be those who'll be ready to pull the trigger before it even starts killing everything that moves; those dissatisfied with its endless clichés and tough guy melodrama, unimpressed with its script and performances, and disappointed that a movie with a cast this talented failed to put them to good use. It so desperately wants to rub shoulders with The Untouchables, L.A. Confidential and the classics of Gangland cinema, but it isn't in the same league, much less the same sphere. Warner's Blu-ray release, on the other hand, gets just about everything right. Regardless of whether you love or hate the film, its video transfer is terrific, its DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track is a show-stopper and its supplemental package has plenty of extras to go around. At the very least, a rental is in order.

Es la verdad. Fuera de sus bonitos visuales y un par de buenas actuaciones la película es intrascendente.

Ayer me traje la versión de Best Buy que incluye 30 minutos de un documental "meet the gangster squad" por que a mi y a varios compañeros de la oficina si nos gusto.

y que tal está la peli? he visto algunas de gangsters padrisimas y otras aburridisimas

A mí sí me gusto. Será porque tengo un gusto muy particular por películas de esa época, y que además me recordó muchísimo al juego de L.A. Noire.

En efecto, al comprarla en Sanborns con el 50%, me di cuenta de que la copia digital viene con un código que canjeas en mx.flixter.com la puedes bajas o ver en streaming (al igual que en el app que bajas). Se me hizo buena opción.

La película no la he visto, a ver si hoy.
