Cita:Ain't it Cool News is reporting a that rumor that New Line is balking on the price WETA Digital is charging to finish the effects for the extra footage that Peter Jackson plans to add back into The Return of the King for the extended edition DVD. The thought is that the studio might be planning to cheap out and use a budget-rate American effects house to finish the shots. We can't vouch for the validity of the rumor, but if it's true, we'll be seriously pissed here at The Bits. New Line... if you're reading this, don't even think about it. You've got a good thing going and these DVDs have really been a cut above the usual studio cookie cutter fare. This is NO time to try to shave a little more profit out of it. Let Jackson and WETA do whatever the hell they want to with the DVD and that's that. They've earned the right. We'll look into this and try to find out if it's really something the studio is considering. If it's true, someone's gonna get an earful from us.

Ain't it Cool is also reporting a list of the scenes to be added back into the film for the extended DVD. These include Gandalf confronting Saruman at Isengard, Merry pledging allegiance to Theoden at Edoras, Aragorn using the Palantir to reveal himself to Sauron, the Witch King confronting Gandalf during the battle of Pelennor Fields, the Houses of Healing scene in which Faramir and Eowyn meet, Frodo and Sam joining a column of orcs on the way to Mt. Doom and the infamous 'Mouth of Sauron' scene at the Black Gates. Glimpses of a few of these appeared in trailers for the film. We've also heard that the drinking game at Edoras between Gimli and Legolas will be added back in, along with possibly more footage showing other characters going into the West at the end of the film. Peter Jackson has said that approximately 65 minutes of material was cut from the film for its theatrical release, so a good portion of that could find its way back into the extended cut. We'll post more when we hear it.

a esto hay que agregar el no rumor, pues ya está confirmado, que la edición normal del DVD sale en Mayo.....

Ahh que jaladas, no creo que New Line sea tan estúpido de pensar en cambiar de compañía de FX ya cuando todo va tan bien...

Yo tambien creo que lo mejor es una negociacion, ya que ambos perderían en el proceso de no llegar a un acuerdo, si ya tienen un estandar de calidad las versiones extendidas, no sería correcto que lo perdiera el Retorno del Rey por cuestiones de costo.

considerando que la trilogía de LOTR es la "joya de la corona" de New Line Cinema (achis!, que no era Freddy Vs Jason??? :wink: ) no creo que se avienten a hacer esta estupidez con la película más importante de toda la trilogía (y quizás de su historia)

When can we expect the extended DVD version of The Return of the King?

Director Peter Jackson just edited the four-hour, 10-minute longer cut, due in November. The theatrical version will arrive in May or June.

Speaking from his hotel in Los Angeles, the Kiwi was in a splendid mood, despite a lack of Oscar nominations for his cast. "Sean (Astin, who plays hobbit Sam) was our chance at it. There were other great performances, but his was the name we were praying to hear this morning."

He enjoyed his first Golden Globes ceremony, where King went four for four with wins. Save for one discovery: New Zealand is left off the globe portion of his statue. "I'll have a quiet word with them."

Pues ni modo mi Lucho en vía de mientras a disfrutar la version de cine.

Después de tantas historias de que se podría haber agregado hasta 1hr. más de escenas me decepciona un poco saber que solo se le van a agregar 10 mins.

Bueno, será que ya me malacostumbré a tanto que se les había agregado en las ediciones anteriores.

Creo que son 4 horas y 10 minutos lo que dice en el reportaje (4 hour 10 minutes long) :lol:

Je je, pues si, me precipité, según IMDB la theatrical dura 200 mins, entonces se le estarían agregando 50 mins.

La verdad si estaba mal redactada la nota, te da a entender que la theatrical dura 3:50 hrs. y que esta versión de 4 hrs. es 10 mins más larga.

Nada que, yo si le entendí, es una versión más larga, de 4hrs. 10min. pero yo renía entendido que la película normnal duraba 3hrs. 30min., estaba corto por 10min.

es que sin créditos dura 3 horas con 20 minutos... je,je... :wink: :wink:

el "run time" o el tiempo real d las peliculas, se cuenta desde que empieza el primer credito de la casa productora hasta que acaban todos los creditos finales

entonces, "El retorno del rey" dura casi 3 horas y media, y la version extendida durara 4 horas y 10 min. o sea, un poco mas de 40 minutos extras

la portada es como todos ya sabiamos, aun asi es bueno verla por aca:

Espero que esta peli en su versión extendida quede tan bien como las anteriores...es la que menos sentía que necesitaba agregarsele algo....por supuesto que para mi siempre será bienvenido material extra, pero ojalá y que siga con la línea de las anteriores superando a la versión teatral.

Realmente falta poco pa la edicion de cine. Igual y en Nov salen con la trilogia pa que se venda bien en navidad. Dudo que se esperen hasta el año que entra.

Compra segura en R4 (si es que no hacen la burrada de sacarla en "Edición Especial Fuckscreen")

esta si es imposible que la saquen en full para Z4....... no way!!!!!!!!!!

Totalmente de acuerdo con Lucho, esta no la sacan full ni por equivocación yo tengo La Comunidad del Anillo y Las Dos Torres en Región 4 y son wide, asi que no creo que New Line se aviente la puntada de sacar El Regreso del Rey en full.

quien sabe... recordemos que WB tiene mano por ahí... y ya ha hecho algunos descalabros similares en el pasado... ¿alguien se acuerda de Matrix Rechafeado?

Si la recuerdo Arturo, nada mas que en este caso en concreto Warner solo distribuye, la decision de lo que incluye la edicion, formato y caracteristicas las decide integramente New Line, asi que no le veo mayor riesgo.

Pues yo creo que si saldrá WIDE y si no pues a Z1 con todo, seguramente, subtitulado.

Esperemos informen las fechas de la extendida de ERDR porque que muero por tenerla ya :!: :!:

Con respecto a la versión Extendida y su salida anticipada, parece que tendremos que esperar nomás:

Yo opino igual, hasta ahora han sido ediciones muy decentes

nomas estaba esperando haber quien se animaba a ponerlo, pero parece que yo lo tendre que hacer.
