ya salio info sobre las nueva miniserie de galactica:
Back in March we talked about the DVD release of Battlestar Galactica - The All-New Miniseries. At the time (well, and still to this day!), the release timeframe at the official website says "Release date June/July 2004". Since it's July already, and we don't have an announcement from Universal yet, we know that's not true, right?

But yesterday we posted this Universal press release that goes over many of the studio's upcoming TV-to-DVD products for the rest of the year. And the subject of this product's delay was mentioned. Here's what they have to say about the 2003 Battlestar Galactica miniseries and it's new timeframe:

Get ready for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE ALL-NEW MINISERIES, the classic sci-fi series reinvented for the new millennium and featuring Oscar-nominated actors Edward James Olmos (Stand and Deliver) and Mary McDonnell (Dances with Wolves). The SCI-FI Channel hit miniseries comes to DVD later this year.

So there, now it's official! We'll get it before 2004 is over. And, thanks to the official website of the miniseries, we already know the specs:

Cover art isn't available yet. There are a number of shots of the "big eye" poster (the same one as at the official website that we linked to above) floating around the internet, being used in place of DVD cover art. We've learned that it's *possible* that this could be used as the DVD cover art, but it's VERY unlikely. Expect something different.

Stay tuned for the final cover art, an exact in-store date, pricing, and other info. A detailed announcement should be available in the near future.

La película original significa mucho para mi, pues fue la primera de ciencia ficción "moderna" que vi cuando tenía como 10 años (por cierto, la vi en la tele, canal 8, y con un monton de "lluvia" pues era antena aérea). Las de Star Wars yo las ví hasta el '90 y en la tele :oops: .

Recientemente me la encontré en un BB, y la volví a ver, ya más en forma, realmente es diferente a como yo la recordaba, pero el fin de semana pasaron en los canales de Movie City la mitad de la serie nueva, y la verdad me decepcionó. Los efectos especiales son sin lugar a duda mejores, pero la historia tiene tantos cambios, y además la trama se desarrolla tan lenta, que me desesperó y dejé de verla.

En fin, tal vez haya alguien que se le guste esta nueva versión...

Ciertamente, se siente mucho la diferencia de una serie a la otra, es a lo que se le llama el corazón de la historia.

La nueva serie esta bastante bien, y los efectos están de poca, el problema es que parece un TOP GUN en el espacio, y todos tus personajes conocidos desaparecen o cambian radicalmente en su mentalidad o forma de ser.

Pienso que en lugar de llamarla galáctica debieron escoger otro nombre y crear una serie nueva, o alterar los nombres de los personajes y posisionar la historia en otra linea temporal de el universo de battlestar.

Aun asi, merece una vista ya que esta bastante bien hecha 8)

Universal has released some early details on Battlestar Galactica: The Miniseries which stars the likes of Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, James Callis and Tricia Helfer. The new mini-series, will be available to own from the 28th December this year on a double-sided disc. The retail price will be set at around $27.98. The episodes (which have a total runtime of 3 hours 3 minutes) will be presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks. English, French and Spanish subtitles will also be provided. We'll bring you further details on this one shortly.

Alguna noticia de su salida en R4??

hay un review en IGN.. y la verdad no le fue nada bien a la R1..

Pues gracias a la sección de Películas y TV por el aviso de esta edicion en R4.

Sólo la encontré en Mixup.. a 184

De portada trae el logo del ojo, justo como se promocionó la miniserie antes de su salida al aire en el SCI-FI channel.

El disco es de una sola cara, con estampado de buena calidad, video anamórfico a 1:78:1. Inglés 5.1 y japonés 5.1.

Subtítulos en inglés, español, japonés y portugues.

Contiene todo el episodio piloto de 4 horas ( que en realidad son 210 minutos ) y el documental de Lowdown.

A diferencia de la R1 no trae las escenas borradas ( que segun dicen los reviews son escenas donde no se completaron los efectos ) y los tracks de comentarios no los localicé. El audio en español tampoco lo trae.

El de R1 es un doblecara, en algunas tiradas salio como dos discos sin estampado! y on los menues haciedno referencia al "flip " para los extras.

La imagen parece ser igual que el de la R1 por los comentarios de lso reviews que rondan la red, al audio no lo he podido verificar.

Buena opción si no se quiere como un top ten coleccionable.
