Gone With The Wind gets four disc treatment

As God is my witness, Gone With the Wind will be released again. This time as a special four disc set from Warner Home Entertainment for the 65th anniversarry of the film.
As new remastering techniques become available, more beautiful restorations can be done, and the film has been restored frame by frame over two discs in the original fullscreen. The original mono as well as a superflous Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack are available. A full length audio commentary and new narrated introductions accompany the film on the first two discs. The remaining discs contain two hours of documentaries, behind the scenes footage, still galleries, trailers and a 22 page booklet recreating the original press junkets for the film.
Arriving November 9th, the DVD will set you back $39.95.

Warner Bros has revealed that they're going to be releasing a Gone With the Wind: 65th Anniversary Special Edition on 11/9 (SRP $39.92). The 4-disc set will include some 5 hours of old and new documentaries, interviews and other bonus features. The film has been restored with Warner's "Ultra-Resolution" process and the film has been spread over 2 dual-layered discs. Audio will be available in the original mono and a new Dolby Digital 5.1 mix as well.

y bueno.... me parece raro que le hayan puesto el 5.1 cuando Warner no estaba agregando esta característica a sus películas de catálogo clásicas..... en fin..... NUNCA ME GUSTÓ ESTA PELÍCULA.... así que paso con esta....

Sobre si es buena, creo que la pregunta sobra al haber sido nombrada "La película más grandiosa que ha dado el cine norteamericano" por la crítica. De mi parte, te diré que yo llevo ya casi un año viendola por lo menos una vez al mes y no me canso.... :wink:

no la considero una obra maestra

es una movie, no un film

Del cine hay muchas obras maestras que iniciarian aqui una discusión que no terminaría ni en 10000 posts, pero en cuanto a ésta, Lo que el viento se llevó, habrá tanto quien la considere obra maestra como quien solo la vea como una peli entretenida. En cualquier caso, creo que su valor está en su indiscutible posición de clásico del cine mundial y como parteaguas de la historia del mismo, el conjunto de talento, y sobre todo, ser de los máximos exponentes de un cine que se ha perdido hoy, del cine espectacular y majestuoso comparable a Troya, Gladiador o El señor de los anillos, con la ventaja adicional de que todo lo que ves en pantalla está ahi realmente, ni un gramo de CGI ni computadora.

lo que me encantaría leer sobre esta edición, es que tuviera los extras subtitulados, pero ya sería demasiado pedir...

Después de una larga ausencia de unas 2 semanas fuera de la red, ya estoy de vuelta!!!! Y FELIZ POR ESTE LANZAMIENTO!!!

Pues les parecerá el colmo, pero aún no está en mis manos, aunque si a alguien de los que enviaron STL ya les llegó...¿¿¿QUE ESPERAN??? CUENTEN QUE TAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya la tengo (bueno, es de mi novia por regalo mio) y ya la ví.

Les confirmo que si tiene subs en español en la película pero afortunadamente NO TIENE SUBS EN LOS EXTRAS, vaya, ni siquiera subs en ingles o close caption. Así que ya sabrán, solo parando bien la oreja.

Vi algunos extras y el documental está bastante extenso aunque no es muy ameno.

El documental sobre la restauración no explica mucho el proceso, ese es el que me daban mas ganas de ver y pensaba que iba a estar a detalle pero pues no
