Still haven't had your fill of TV on DVD announcements? Then Fox Home Entertainment has another batch for your viewing pleasure this holiday season.

First up on November 23rd is the long-awaited debut of the charming and cheesy Star Wars Animated Adventures double features: Droids, Ewoks and Caravan of Courage/The Battle for Endor. Each boasts remastered 4:3 full screen presentations and Dolby tracks (configurations not specified) and no announced extras. Retail will list for $16.95 a pop. Sadly, the epic Star Wars Christmas Special remains unreleased. Dammit.

the animated Star Wars: Droids series was officially announced for DVD release on 11/23, with a price of $14.98 SRP.

At the time, we told you that we didn't know yet what the contents would be, but that it could *possibly* contain the entire run of 15 episodes. Well, we now know that it doesn't.

Not only is this release not going to be a season set, it's merely a pair of "features" that are made up of various episodes of the show. Here are selected portions of the press release:

...DVD includes two feature-length titles, which include..."THE PIRATES AND THE PRINCE" and "TREASURE OF THE HIDDEN PLANET."

"STAR WARS ANIMATED ADVENTURES: DROIDS" -- Two animated Droid features recount the adventures of C-3PO and R2-D2 before they met Luke Skywalker as they serve various masters over the years. As it turns out, their lives were no less hectic as they became involved in battles against gangsters, pirates and the Empire.

The combined running time on this DVD is 172 minutes. The VHS release of Droids: The Pirates and the Prince ran 90 minutes, and consisted of a few of the first (and only) season's episodes, so we expect that portion of the DVD to reproduce the 1997 VHS effort.

"Treasure of the Hidden Planet" seems to be based on another VHS release that ran about 82 minutes, and seemed to also be made up of a group of episodes. Fox hasn't released enough information for us to know which precise episodes are represented on the DVD. Expect around 7 episodes - give or take - to contribute to this release.

Here's the cover art again, for anyone who missed it:

Que mala onda que no trae nada en español, espero equivocarme, pero muy seguramente este DVD no lo veremos en Región 4, tal y como sucedío con Willow.
yo creo que tratándose de star wars, sí la veremos por estos lares
