Remington Steele - Street Date Correction for Season 1

A little over a week ago, we brought you the breaking news that Remington Steele - Season 1 would arrive on DVD this Spring. The date we got from Fox's press kit was April 26th, and that's what we passed on to our readers.

Since then, we've noticed that other DVD news sites have relayed this news with a different date, and we discovered that this other date was also in the same set of information, just in another place. We contacted Fox to ask for a clarification, and they apologized, telling us the the second date was the correct one.

The accurate street date for Remington Steele - Season 1 is May 24th. All the other information posted in the previous story was accurate. Fox is still waiting on final approval of the cover art, and just as soon as that's done we'll bring it to you. Stay tuned!

Remington Steele - Extras confirmed for 1st Season DVDs

At the end of 2004 we were pleased to bring you the news that Remington Steele - Season 1 is arriving this Spring (specifically on May 24th). At the time, no other details were available other than the $39.98 SRP.

Now we have word from Video Business that this release is a 4-DVD set, and will contain some extras. In an article (registration required) posted yesterday to their online site, the trade magazine had this to say:

The four-disc set of the first season of Remington Steele, starring pre-007 Pierce Brosnan as a suave thief hired to be a front man for a female detective agency owner (Stephanie Zimbalist), also debuts May 24 ($39.98), with audio commentaries and featurettes.

It sounds great. We will be looking to Fox Home Entertainment to provide details of those supplements. And cover art as well. So stay tuned, and we'll be back with more just as soon as we can!

Remington Steele - We've waited this long, what's a little longer?

In various news posts here at TVShowsOnDVD, including our most recent one, we've talked about a release date of May 24th for Remington Steele - Season 1. But as May approaches, we expected to get details from Fox about the title, and never did.

Yesterday we contacted Fox and asked them about this. It seems that the DVD set has been delayed from May to sometime in July. I don't have a specific date for you, nor a reason for the change. Stay tuned, though, and we'll let you know when we find out more.

Remington Steele - First Look At Cover Art For Season 1!

We've gotten ahold of what is certain to be your very first look at the box for Remington Steele - Season 1 DVD Set! A new release date hasn't been formally announced, but you probably recall our news a few weeks ago that this was delayed from May 24th to sometime in July.

Audio commentaries and featurettes are reported to be included in this 4-disc set, which was initially planned for $39.98 (but the price and content is subject to change). For that matter, this cover art is subject to change as well, but it did come to use directly from Fox Home Entertainment. As you can see, they've decided to play up the Pierce Brosnan-as-007 angle both with the wording and the image they choose. As much as Gord and I both enjoy him in both roles, don't forget that this nifty TV series also starred a delightful Stephanie Zimbalist. You would never know it from this, though:

Hopefully Stephanie gets talked up on the back of the box! Stay tuned, and we'll bring you final details of this release, including any updates to the art or any of the contents and pricing, just as soon as Fox makes it available to the press or retailers.
