Dallas - Relax, everyone! More DVD's of Dallas ARE coming!


Ever since the release of Dallas - Seasons 1 & 2, fans have anxiously awaited word of the famous 3rd season coming to DVD, and we see notes from fans all the time who are worried about the lack of news. This is the season that ended in one of TV history's most classic episodes, the exciting cliffhanger where J.R. Ewing was shot. That episode, "A House Divided", started a mystery which sparked articles in mainstream magazines such as Time and Newsweek, and on the evening news broadcasts in many a city. Everybody - even Miss Ellie! - was a suspect in the shooting that resulted in Las Vegas taking bets on just whodunit. The puzzle was finally solved shortly into the 4th season of the series...but we're getting ahead of ourselves! Right now it's the 3rd season of Dallas we want on DVD.

We want to assure fans that the Dallas - Complete 3rd Season DVD set really IS in the works, and that you can probably expect to see it around the end of Summer/start of Fall timeframe. Our thanks to the folks at UltimateDallas.com, who first passed along this info in their discussion forum. Even though one of their major threads on the subject was accidentally deleted, there are other places there where the timeframe is still mentioned. And we've unofficially heard the same info now from a whole bunch of other places as well. Remember that anything can change, but right now it's pretty unanimous that this is when we'll see Season 3. Stay tuned for more, once the folks at Warner Brothers make their official announcement.

Warner has also announced the third season of Dallas which stars F. Gary Gray, Barbara Bel Geddes, Larry Hagman and Priscilla Presley. The five-disc set will be available to own in shops from the 9th August this year, and should set you back around $39.98. Each of the twenty-five season three episodes will be presented in 1.33:1 full frame along with English Mono tracks. Extra material will include audio commentary and a "Who Shot JR?" featurette including interviews with the series' creator and key cast members. Warner hasn't released the artwork for this one yet I'm afraid, but we'll bring you that shortly.

Dallas - J.R. & Sue Ellen Adorn 3rd Season Box!


Yesterday's announcement for the August 9th release of Dallas - The Complete 3rd Season was welcome news, especially with mention of extras that would include a "Who Shot JR?" featurette. Now we're pleased to be the first to bring you the cover art for that season set, appropriately featuring the big bad boy of Southfork, J.R. Ewing, and his lovely (but problem-filled) wife Sue Ellen. It's a great shot, perfect for this season, and nicely set against a background of the Dallas city skyline.




Don't forget that cover art is always subject to change right up until the time you see it on store shelves. But Warner shouldn't touch this one...it's perfect just the way it is!

Dallas - Season 3 earlier than we thought



Our last news item for Dallas assured everyone that the set was coming, and that we should see it around the end of September. Season 3 was just announced, and it's earlier than we had anticipated; August 9.
The series that invented the season cliffhanger and left the world guessing "Who Shot JR?", is now available in this special 5-disc collector's set. Relive the drama, intrigue and deception of TV's most watched event of the 80's, complete with all 25 season three episodes and never-before-seen special features. Dallas recounts the tale of Texas sons and daughters whose lives revolve around oil, family and power. And Larry Hagman portrays petroleum magnate J.R. Ewing, whose pursuit of, in no particular order, money and clout knows no limits.
This 5 disc set will contain all 25 episodes from season 3, totalling 1176 mins. We can expect the same technical specs as season 1&2; Full Frame (1.33:1) video; English Mono audio, and English, French and Spanish subtitles. The set will contain audio commentary, and "Who Shot JR?" featurette, including interviews with series' creator and key cast members. Pick up the set for $39.98 US and ask yourself, "Who shot JR?"
