Dukes of Hazzard, The - 3rd Season release jumps onto shelves before big-screen film hits


Warner Bros has put the pedal to the metal to get The Dukes of Hazzard season three into stores shortly before the new movie hits theaters. The third season will hit store shelves on May 31, just 4 months after season 2, and roughly 3 weeks before the theatrical movie starring Sean William Scott ("Stifler" of American Pie) as "Bo", Johnny Knoxville (Jackass' creator) as "Luke", Jessica Simpson as "Daisy", Burt Reynolds as "Boss Hogg", and Willie Nelson as "Uncle Jesse". Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) even shows up in the film...and you can see if if you buy the 3rd Season DVDs! The set even comes with a free movie ticket!

The specs for the set haven't changed from previous releases; full frame (1.33:1) video, with an English Mono audio track (English, French and Spanish subtitles). There will be 23 episodes on 4 DVDs (DVD-18 - double-sided, dual-layer). List price is $39.98 for 1135 minutes of show.

Warner has officially announced the third season of Dukes of Hazzard which stars Catherine Bach, James Best, John Schneider and Denver Pyle. The four-disc set will be available to own from the 31st May this year, and should set you back around $39.98. The set will include all twenty-three episodes of the action packed season, presented in 1.33:1 full frame along with English Mono tracks. The set will also arrive complete with a free movie ticket for the theatrical release of the new Dukes of Hazzard film starring Jessica Simpson, Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville. Dukes of Hazzard, The - 3rd Season Box Art!

We sense a theme here! We've gotten in pictures of the box for the May 31st release of The Dukes of Hazzard - The Complete 3rd Season (detailed in our previous news story). Once more it is Bo, Luke, Daisy, and the General Lee...just like on the previous two season sets. Warner probably has a full gallery of different shots of the four "stars" of the show, but hopefully we see some of the rest of the cast featured on upcoming boxes.






Dave's Thoughts:
I'm wondering what will happen on the eventual fifth season box set, when Bo & Luke had been written out due to a financial dispute the actors had at the time with the studio, and replaced by cousins Coy & Vance. However, since Bo & Luke return for the last four episodes of that fifth season, replacing the never-to-be-seen-again cousins before the first fifteen minutes were up in the "Welcom Back Bo & Luke" story, it's possible we'll again see a cover with only Bo, Luke, Daisy, and the General Lee. It would be great to get Uncle Jesse, Boss Hogg, Rosco, Enos, Cletus, Cooter, and even the strumming hands of The Balladeer (Waylon Jennings) on the front covers of some of these season sets, though!

Dukes of Hazzard, The - 3rd Season Extras Revealed on Back Of Box!


It's been almost two months since we first posted the announcement for the May 31st release of The Dukes of Hazzard - The Complete 3rd Season, and at the time we had the specs and episodes and pricing and so forth, but were missing the cover art and the list of extras for this set. Since then, Warner has provided the cover art (first posted in early March, and reprinted below), but this morning they have also provided a shot of the back of the box...and along with it, a list of the supplements for this set:
