The AVD-C70ES's receiver section pairs 120 watts x 5 channels of clean, all-digital amplification with precision decoding for Dolby® Digital and DTS® sources. The result is seamless home theater sound that's teeming with sonic detail and dynamic intensity. You also get Pro Logic™ II processing, which lets you turn any older surround and stereo sources into convincing 5.1-channel sound. A multibrand LCD remote gives you easy system control.

The DVD changer offers progressive-scan output for an incredibly filmlike picture with compatible TVs, and interlaced output for a great picture with standard TVs. It's also a disc-playing jack-of-all-trades, handling not only DVDs and standard CDs, but also your home-burned CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and long-playing MP3 discs. The changer even offers playback capability for SACDs, so you can surround yourself with multichannel music in ultra-high resolution. Sony designed the AVD-C70ES with today's advanced A/V components in mind. You get component video switching for the DVD changer's output and a second high-resolution video source, such as an HDTV tuner.
