Estaba revisando los reviews mas recientes y me llamo la antencion las palabras finales para este disco:


Game of Death's best action scenes are the ones that don't leave audiences wanting to stop the movie or start twiddling their thumbs, and those rarely make an appearance. It's an exercise in endurance to be sure, and while it's certainly not the absolute worst film reviewed on this site, it's pretty bad, separated from the worst-of-the-worst only because Blu-ray.com does not allow reviewers to rate a movie "0/5." Sony's Blu-ray release of Game of Death delivers serviceable video and audio for those who choose to watch, and there are even a few scattered extras for gluttons for punishment. Skip it.

To say Stag Night is déjà vu all over again does a disservice to anyone suffering from déjà vu. This is simply too derivative, too formulaic and too ridiculous to ever provide anything other than rote chills.


Bajo la premisa de absoluta verdad "en gustos se rompen generos", Yo considero que si existen los titulos a evitar ya sea por la mala calidad del lanzamiento o por carecer de sentido, objetivo y/o fin, una pelicula por muy Hollywoodense o por muy Eurpoea que sean puede resultar en un completo fiasco; sin dejar de hacer la mension que Blu-ray.com no es la verdad absoluta en revisiones de los nuevos discos pero si una referencia muy comun en la red.

(Y no me refiero en el enfoque AQ o PQ que es la razon principal por la que buscamos un titlulo HD)

Para mi un título a evitar básicamente seria por la película que contiene, no veo razón para evitar un título por su falta de subtítulos/doblaje, por su mala calidad en cuanto a PQ o AQ.
Si no tengo el DVD, todos sabemos que por muy pequeña que sea la diferencia con el DVD, la habrá, así que yo voy por el BD.
Si hablo inglés no veo porque no comprar una película que no traiga subtítulos en español. Si solo están disponibles subtítulos en español y no doblaje, no voy a dejar de comprarla por eso.
Ahora, yo jamás compraría bodrios como Transformers 2 por muy sorprendente PQ o AQ, mucho menos porque incluyan subtítulos o doblaje.
Y así puedo continuar con la lista de bodrios insufribles.

Pues ninguno de esos titulos compraria, yo me guio por reseñas y casi siempre voy por el formato Blu Ray independientemente de la calidad de imagen.

Aunque la portada sirve de guia, muchas veces hay películas muy buenas pero con una portada espantosa (Near Dark por ejemplo).

Y yo si tengo Transformers 2 solamente por la calidad de imagen y sonido :grin:

Coincido con algunos de sus puntos, para mi, la UNICA razon para decir "Evitela como a la Peste" es la pelicula en si, sin importar que metan a piece of shit en una caja metalica y muy bonita, sigue apestando igual

Un caso especial en nuestro país es Slumdog Millionaire
La película, como todos sabemos, es de lo mejor, pero...
El transfer de la edición nacional es LO PEOR que haya visto en BD

Pero esa no es razón para evitarla, la película es buena y por lo menos yo no recomendaria el dvd sobre el blu-ray.

Yo digo que eviten el BD nacional, la verdad es que no vale la pena y lo sabes.

Priest isn't worth the meager 87 minutes its asks of its audience. It's competently put together from a technical perspective, but forget any sort of originality in any area of the production. Es lo mismo que los "must have". No es algo universal sino personal. No existe un titulo para todo el mundo ni otro para nadie. Lo que a mi me puede parecer glorioso para alguien mas puede ser basura y viceversa.

Para mí si hay títulos a evitar, que me vengan a la mente todas las de la saga de Crepúsculo y sus derivados, así como las ediciones regionalizadas que no tengan calidad.

No hay peor titulo a evitar para cada quien que aquel que simplemente no te gusta.

No la he visto pero no creo que sea tan mala, he escuchado que es "entretenida a secas". De hecho yo no confiaria mucho en las reviews de peliculas de Martin Liebman, especialmente si tocan algun tema de religion o algo asi, pues el es una persona muy religiosa (estudio en universidad cristiana segun su bio y sus reviews) por lo cual si la pelicula deja mal parada a la religion es casi seguro que destrozara la pelicula en su review, y si la pelicula realza la religion hablara maravillas de ella. Lo ha hecho ya en muchas reviews de Blu-ray.com

La verdad es que no son las grandes peliculas, son malas peliculas eso si, pero no tanto como para darle 0.5 a the reaping (hay peores como crepusculo 2 ), pienso que pueden ser entretenidas y ya.

Asi que si dudan yo opino que la renten para que salgan de dudas.

Vi este titulo en sanborns en 3D pero la vdd el puro arte dejo muchisimo que desear y pues asi es, lo sacaron aqui en caja blanca y sin los logos UK.

En su tiempo, 1995, The Prophecy (aka Soldados de Dios) me llamo mucho la atención y después seguí las demás películas que existieron, que triste ver que le dieron un tratamiento pésimo para el Blu ray, pudiera decir que de cierta manera le da un aire a Constantine y la trama es buena a secas, las demás películas si estan 2-2, pero fue un placer culpable lo admito, pero no las voy a comprar aun y que los 2 set de la colección están muy baras.

The Prophecy should have been so much more. The story and the characters are just too big for the movie, and it crumbles under their weight. The picture is poorly paced but nicely acted. Universal's Blu-ray release is better, thanks to a solid video presentation and a terrific DTS-HD Master Audio track, even though the disc's 6-minute supplemental package is a disappointment no matter how you feel about the film itself. Definitely rent Silent Hill: Revelation before considering a purchase.

yo digo que no existen los titulos a evitar por que por mas mala que sea la edicion (o simple) tiene que haber alguien que sea fan de ella y por eso la haya comprado
por ejemplo yo tengo la sencilla version de miramax de "shoot em up" y la importada

shoot em up es una buena peli de accion... y con la Bellucci los bonos de la peli se incrementan estratosfericamente...

En cuanto a "contenido" creo que NO se puede decir que existan títulos a evitar pues cada persona tiene diferentes gustos, y lo que para unos es basura para otros es oro molido.
Por ejemplo yo jamás tiraría mi dinero en peliculas como las de Viernes 13, Scream, Pesadilla en la calle del infierno (bueno, la primera pasa), etc. Porque las considero de lo más bobaliconas y simplonas. Pero estoy consciente de que esas películas tienen legión de fans que las aman, luego entonces para ellos son películas que no se pueden perder.

Pero donde creo que si se puede decir que hay películas a evitar es cuando hablamos de la presentación del disco: Video y Audio (principalmente).

Si eres fan de esa película creo que te molestará sobremanera la pésima calidad de audio y video. No sólo la calidad del video es mala, sino que además la recortaron de su aspecto original (de 1.33:1 a 1.78:1)
O sea le recortaron un buen de información de las partes superior e inferior de la imagen, ademas el audio es malo, y los extras son pocos e insustanciales.

Es de los pocos BD que de hecho son inferiores a versiones en DVD existentes. Estos son los títulos A EVITAR. Hay más pero para muestra basta un botón.

Jajajaja, yo tambien pense en elchb en cuanto vi el tema del post...

Va en gustos. Por ejemplo yo atesoro fervientemente mi BD de The Last Airbender. Pelicula que creo que solo a mi me gusto. Tanto así que planeo hacer double dip próximamente con la edición 3D. En lo que si considero prudente a evitar son títulos con una calidad de video y audio penosa siendo que en algún otro lado del mundo existen versiones de mejor calidad. Como bien mencionaban ahi arriba por ejemplo yo no le recomendaría a nadie la Slumdog Millionaire nacional o muchas muchas otras que actualmente en nuestro país dejan mucho que desear como las ediciones de Disney sin ir mas lejos.

Pues yo opino que no ahy mejor titulo a evitar que el que no te gusta ya dejando a un lado el aspecto tecnico, por ejemplo yo no soy fan del cine de terror y por mas queuna pelicula tenga recomendaciones y su transfer sea de referencia pues la voy a evitar solo por el simple hecho de que no me gusta.

como yo no compro los blurays por la imagen y/o audio (hasta apenas ahorita que ya compre mi pantalla de 40 pulgadas para mi recamara) para mi los titulos a evitar eran los que tenian igual de contenido "especial" que la version en dvd... yo como pueden ver en mi blog los compraba por los documentales y demas....

Para mi "Scary Movie 5" en mi opinión se rebajó a las demás "movies" (Epic, disaster,etc etc)De esos 2 pendejos que las escribieron . No niego que hay una que otra escena cómica pero nada más, si creen que la 4 es malísima, esperen a ver la 5 , juzguen por sí mismos, porque en gustos los colores.
La película a Haunted house (de Marlos Wayans) esa aunque parezca una mierda más, le da una paliza a SM 5

Even as an at-times shameless Men in Black clone, R.I.P.D. could be much, much better. A sharper vision, more decisive direction, a smarter screenplay and less generic baddies would have gone a long way to patching the film's wounds, which is where the cast -- Schwentke's saving grace -- comes into play. R.I.P.D. never amounts to a good film, but Reynolds and Bridges give it a go anyway and breathe as much life into the horrifying hijinks as possible. I hated almost every minute of Schwentke's supernatural romp and yet enjoyed watching Reynolds and Bridges have a ball. Go figure. Universal's Blu-ray release is another matter, thankfully. While its special features leave a lot to be desired, its AV presentation is sound, with a strong video presentation and terrific DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track. Even so, I'd recommend proceeding with caution.
