The French branch of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has revealed that it will release on Blu-ray Hugh Hudson's Chariots of Fire (1981), starring Nicholas Farrell, Nigel Havers, Ian Charleson, Ben Cross, and Ian Holm. In 1981, the film won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Cannes Film Festival. A year later, it also won four Oscar Awards, including Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen (Colin Welland) and Best Music, Original Score (Vangelis). Technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment. Street date is October 5th.

The UK branch of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has revealed that is planning to release on Blu-ray director Hugh Hudson's Chariots of Fire (1981), starring Nicholas Farrell, Nigel Havers, Ian Charleson, Ben Cross, and Ian Holm. In 1981, the film won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Cannes Film Festival. A year later, it also won four Oscar Awards, including Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen (Colin Welland) and Best Music, Original Score (Vangelis). Street date is June 18th.

Note: A preliminary release date for the U.S. is yet to be revealed

Burbank, CA, March 30, 2012 – Oscar winner Chariots of Fire, the inspiring true story of two very different men competing in the 1924 Olympics, will become available on Blu-ray Disc for the first time on July 10 from Warner Home Video (WHV). The title’s release will coincide with this year’s Summer Olympics in London which begins at the end of July.

The four-time Academy Award-winning film, named Best Picture in 1982, also won for Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score, and received three additional nominations. Ben Cross (Star Trek) and Ian Charleson (Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan Lord of the Apes) head a stellar cast, which also features British luminaries Ian Holm (Lord of the Rings series), John Gielgud (Gandhi, Arthur) and Lindsay Anderson (O Lucky Man), in this powerful and emotional true story of British sprinters Harold Abrahams (Cross) and Eric Liddell (Charleson). Eric, a devout Scottish missionary runs because he knows it must please God, while Harold, the son of a newly wealthy Jew runs to prove his place in Cambridge society. Ian Holm was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor in his role as Abrahams' coach.

Chariots of Fire will be offered in WHV’s premium Blu-ray book packaging ($35.99 SRP) with close to an hour of special features, and a Blu-ray book with rare insights into the film’s production and cast, including trivia and in-depth photos. In addition, there is a CD sampler featuring some of the most beloved songs from the film.

Malas y buenas...

Las malas noticias: es casi un hecho de que ese Digibook no venga a México, ya que en México Fox es quien distribuye ese BD, como en todo el mundo excepto Estados Unidos y Canadá. También, como ya vieron, el Digibook de Warner no trae subs en español, lo cual es una verdadera lástima.

La buena es que la MX de seguro trae subs en Español.



La tirada sería importar ese bonito Digibook y ponerle el disco MX.

Esta edicion en USA no la encontre en ninguna tienda que no fuera walmart y 30 usd mas tax se me hizo muy cara para el cambio de BR y el CD sampler de musica del compositor (olvido el nombre)

Esta de 10 el digi la flama esta realzada.

Definitivamente en algunas semanas mas ad hoc con las olimpiadas nos da la sorpresa de un bajon en el precio, se los prometo.

En Liverpool tienen la edicion de 1 disco sin el CD sampler, a 189 pesos (50% de descuento en la compra de 3 titulos de Fox), pero decidi mejor a esperarme a comprar la edicion con el CD que se consigue en Mixup. Eso o esperar a ver si les llega la ed de 2 discos a Liverpool o Blockbuster antes de que terminen las promociones
