TERMINATOR SALVATION "Director's Cut Blu-Ray"

Pues no sé en realidad cuánto afecte eso, no es que TODA la película sea incluída 2 veces en el mismo disco. Las escenas que componen los 3 minutos extras han sido añadidas, como ya se dijo, via "seamless branching".
Habrá que ver si la versión de Warner mejora en la calidad de imagen o no. Aunque yo lo dudo.

Según DVD Times existen tres versiones en la estructura interna del disco:

"To assess the presentation of Terminator Salvation I first have to try and bore you with talk about file structure! Basically, on any Blu-ray disc you will find the feature film content in what are called MPEG-2 Transport Stream (.M2TS) files. Usually the entire feature can be found on one single M2TS file on the disc, but if the disc incorporates multiple versions of a film then they either have to repeat said film across multiple large M2TS files, or break the content up into numerous small ones and use branching to build up the multiple edits. This is what Sony have had to do with this Terminator: Salvation UK Blu-ray, as there are in fact 3 versions of the film on one BD-50 disc: Obviously you have the Theatrical Cut and Director’s Cut, but you also have the Maximum Movie Mode that presents the film with video commentary interruptions by the director: McG."

Sea como sea por simple lógica el BD de Warner tiene menos compresión para las versiones Theatrical y Extended ya que cada una de ellas viene en un disco independiente. Claro esto es una cuestión meramente técnica que en realidad en lo personal no me preocupa en lo absoluto, simplemente me causa curiosidad la razón por la cual Sony siguió un camino distinto al de Warner que utilizó dos discos para cada versión de la película en lugar de sólo uno para todo.
