The Video: Sizing Up the Picture
Glancing around the web, the critics are heaping praise onto this 1080p AVC MPEG-4 encoded Blu-ray (aspect ratio 2.40:1), but to be honest I just don't see it. Surprisingly shot on 35mm film (I thought it might have been 16mm), 'Frozen' is overly grainy and, at times, it feels like half the movie is out of focus.

Overall, 'Frozen' looks just-okay on Blu-ray, and isn't going to become anyone's go-to demo material."

The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of 2.40:1. The Blu-Ray packs one heck of a transfer. The picture quality is exceptionally clean and sharp. The details are incredibly rich as you can almost see each individual snowflake hitting the actors' faces. Shawn Ashmore's blue eyes are also highlighted. There's a bit of irony there too since Ashmore played Iceman in the "X-Men" series.
