Warner Home Video and BBC Video will be releasing Planet Earth: Special Edition and Plant Earth: Limited Edition as both Blu-ray Disc and DVD editions on October 4th. All four releases will include these new extras: a commentary on each episode, a music-only watching option, a preview of the forthcoming 'Frozen Planet' and some featurettes ('Great Planet Earth Moments', 'Snow Leopard: Beyond the Myth', 'Secrets of the Maya Underworld', 'Elephant Nomads of the Namib Desert'). Other extras, which were exclusively on the old DVD editions have also been brought over to the Blu-ray Disc products. In terms of physical extras, the six-disc limited edition contains: four art cards and a numbered weighted globe. There is a trailer here for the previous editions.
