The English language dubbed version of 1988 Japanese animated (Anime) film “My Neighbor Totoro” from Studio Ghibli is coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 21st, 2013 via Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment according to an early retailer alert. The film was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, best known for directing the Academy Award-winning film “Spirited Away” (2001). The English dialogue version voice cast here includes: Tim Daly, Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning, Cheryl Chase, Lea Salonga and Frank Welker. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD of the film in standard definition included. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update.

The 2005 English language dubbed version of the (originally 2004) Studio Ghibli Japanese animated film “Howl’s Moving Castle” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 21st, 2013 via Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment according to an early retailer alert. The film was directed by and the screenplay was written by Hayao Miyazaki, best known for directing the Academy Award-winning film “Spirited Away” (2001). The English dialogue version voice cast here includes: Jean Simmons, Christian Bale, Lauren Bacall, Blythe Danner, Emily Mortimer, Josh Hutcherson, Billy Crystal, Jena Malone and Carlos Alazraqui. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD of the film in standard definition included.
