04.11.04 THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
Various sources are letting us know that 20th Century Fox and Icon Productions may be eyeing a September or October release timeframe for Mel Gibson's personal ATM machine, The Passion of The Christ. The film may be released as a two-disc set, depending on the length and complexity of the bonus materials which are currently being assembled. Timed to take advantage of the Christmas shopping season, expect this to be one of the biggest individual title rollouts in DVD history! And with Christian bookstores and other non-traditional DVD outlets already lining up to carry The Passion, this could very well likely become THE biggest selling disc ever. Trade sources have also confirmed that the film will be re-released back into theaters in December for an Oscar-nomination campaign. Thanks to everyone who sent in the scoops.
