Pues George Lucas no conforme con el revuelo que está armando su Star Wars DVD Trilogy, se dará el lujo de lanzar tan solo 7 días antes su afamada ópera prima: THX 1138, en edición especial de colección, que para algunos resulta mejor que Star Wars. No se si esto sea cierto, pues tanto THX como Star Wars me gustan, y no hay que compararlas, pues aunque las 2 son hitos de la ciencia ficción, son estilos, temáticas y en general películas muy diferentes.

Warner has now announced the George Lucas directed THX 1138 which stars Robert Duvall and Donald Pleasence. As well as a newly remastered digital widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, George Lucas has also made a number of CGI additions to the film, some of which you can view below. Extras on this two-disc special edition will include an audio commentary by director George Lucas and co-writer/sound designer Walter Murch, an isolated sound effects track and a new master sessions with Walter Murch featurette. Extras on the second disc will include a new documentary entitled A Legacy of Filmmakers: The Early Years of American Zoetrope, a Artifact from the Future making of documentary, the original student film Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138:4EBm, a classic production featurette entitled Bald and the films original theatrical trailer. We've attached the official package artwork for the new set below, along with some small shots of the alterations thanks to Gary from the Home Theater Forum
