DreamWorks has today released some early details on a single-disc and double-disc limited edition of War of the Worlds which stars Tom Cruise. This new Steven Spielberg directed movie, will be available to own from the 22nd November this year. The single-disc will retail at around $29.99 - the retail price for the two-disc edition is currently unavailable. Both releases will feature a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks.
The only extra on the single-disc release will be a Designing the Enemy: Tripods and Aliens featurette.
The two-disc edition will include that, along with an introduction by Spielberg, a four-part production diary documentary, four behind-the-scenes featurettes (The HG Wells Legacy, Characters: The Family Unit of War of the Worlds, Pre-Visualization and Scoring War of the Worlds), some closing words by Steven Spielberg, design and production photo galleries, and the film's theatrical trailer.
