LOS ANGELES Sept. 22, 2004 — Russ Meyer, producer-director who helped spawn the "skin flick" with such films as "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and later gained a measure of critical respect, has died. He was 82.

Meyer died Saturday at his home in the Hollywood Hills, according to his company, RM Films International Inc. Spokeswoman Janice Cowart said Meyer had suffered from dementia and died of complications of pneumonia.

Meyer's films were considered pornographic in their time but are less shocking by today's standards, with their focus on violence and large-busted women but little graphic sex....

Son cult films, faster es "una oda a la violencia en las mujeres", el texto que narran al principio de la pelicula esta genial. 3 gogo dancers salen de viaje y matan a un junior y secuestran a su novia...

La "violencia" esta muy simplona, un karate chop por aqui y otro por alla... cuando se pegan los payasos en la tv se ve mas real.

No encontre la clasificacion que tenia cuando salio, 1965, pero recuerdo haber leido que era X, y como dije no hay desnudos y la violencia esta bien leve.

Russ Meyer's racy, colorful tale about an uninhibited all-girl rock group is not a sequel to it's predecessor, The Valley of The Dolls, despite it's title. Filled with some of the most bizarre characters and situations ever seen on film, it spans nearly every film genre - comedy, musical, horror, murder, sex and melodrama.

When three female rock'n'rollers travel to Hollywood to claim an inheritance, they meet up with a kinky music promoter who turns them on to a whole new scene. At first, it all seems very exciting and the naive trio becomes submerged in his dangerous tinseltown underworld - before they discover his true motives.

Written by film critic Roger Ebert, this racy psychedelic extravaganza was one of the most talked about film sensations of it's time. (1970)
