Warner Home Video has officially set the Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo box set for release on 10/4 (SRP $64.99). The 3-disc set (2 BDs and a DVD) will come in "double-wide" packaging that contains a 144-page book featuring production photos and notes, archival letters, a Wonka Bar-shaped tin box with scented pencils and eraser and "a limited time Golden Ticket Instant Win Game piece for a chance to enter and win a trip for 2 to Los Angeles." (Replicas of the film's Wonka Bar, Everlasting Gobstopper and Golden Ticket props might have been cooler, in our humble opinion, but so be it.) Disc-based extras include the previous Pure Imagination: The Story of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory documentary, commentary with the Wonka kids and sing-a-longs, as well as 2 new featurettes (Mel Stuart's Wonkavision and A World of Pure Imagination). A new single-disc DVD with limited content will also be available for $12.97. Keep in mind, this film has already been released on Blu-ray in a single-disc "book" edition, without the new content.
