a todo lo que lleva una edición de PÉSIMA calidad..... o alguien cambió de opinión y piensa que la edición de Leaving las Vegas ahora es buena?

Leaving el DVD ! Buena esa!

El caso de Leaving Las Vegas en BD parece ser de esos en los que el material original no da para mucho. Digo, fue filmado en 16mm! tampoco pensemos que se va a ver como 2001: Odisea del espacio, que se filmó en 65mm!

Encontré esta excelente reseña de un sitio mas que confiable. Extractos a continuación:

Leaving Las Vegas doesn't look especially good on Blu-ray. 16mm production roots and the visual style have not radically benefited the film's move to 1080P. Colors are dull and the image itself is dark and lifeless which, of course, is most probably somewhat intentional. However, it is still the weakest looking image I've seen so far in this new format. I wish I had a DVD to compare but suspect that it is less a fault of the transfer and more an accurate representation of the original film. It may very well be the best Leaving Las Vegas will look for your home theater but purchasers should be aware that it is not representative of the heights that Blu-ray can scale. It is in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio but I believe the film was composed theatrically for 1.85.

Audio:
The DTS-HD Master 2.0 audio at 924 kbps (English) is as similarly weak as the image but, again, is indicative of the original production. Dialogue is clear enough to follow if a bit scattered with background interference.

Opinion final:
Purchasers should take into account the Leaving Las Vegas' 16mm roots and temper their expectations in regards to the AV and weak extras.

En corto, parece ser que se hizo lo que se pudo con el material que había. Todo indica que es lo mejor que ha lucido este film alguna vez y probablemente lo mejor que se pueda ver, pero está lejos de verse como otros titulos. Al parecer es como la multi-mencionada 28 Days Later que hagas lo que hagas nunca se verá como Speed Racer debido a cómo se filmó.

conclusión: Sólo si aman esta película, comprenla en BD, es superior que su contraparte en DVD pero al parecer no por mucho.
Así que ya saben si van a compar películas filmadas en 16mm, 8mm o Video de baja resolucion: No esperen milagros. Aunque la verdad no hay muchas peliculas filmadas asi. La mayoria esta filmada en 35 mm al menos. (Aunque hay muchos documentales filmados en 16, 8 mm y video de baja resolucion)
