"Fox will be packaging Avatar on Blu-ray as a bare bones release. There will be no supplemental features - not even menus - but a second disc will include the DVD version of the film. "

"Avatar" will hit stores on April 22, and instead of a disc loaded with extras, it will be just the opposite -- a lean-and-mean approach with only the movie and a relatively simple menu function, a move made to exploit every bit of disc space for the top-of-the-line audio and video presentation of the film, according to the movie's producer, Jon Landau."

"The L.A. Times does confirm that a multi-disc Avatar release will be coming in November and that Fox and Cameron will discuss its contents and the environmental impact of releasing the bare bones release on Earth Day at a press event in West Hollywood on March 23."
