Cita:Well, we got hold of some information on the upcoming Theatrical DVD version of Peter Jackson's "Return of the King." This is from VERY reliable sources so we thought we'd share.
To start with what we don't know. The release date. Many sources say May 25th but based on that the movie is still in theaters and doing well and that it may take a Oscar or two on Sunday makes August a possibility as well.
Now to the fun part. What we do know and that is not so little:

ENGLISH: Dolby Digital 5.1 EX
ENGLISH: Dolby Surround 2.0
Widescreen 2.40:1 Color (Anamorphic)

There you have it. This is not official but we wouldn't post this if we did not trust our source. For the official announcement from New Line check back on March 8th where we will have more.
Por suerte Edwin recibió información oficial que confirma que el DVD del 25 de Mayo en Z1 traerá subtítulos en español.
Con respecto a la versión Extendida y su salida anticipada, parece que tendremos que esperar nomás:
Cita:The rumor mill regarding the RotK DVD releases has been the two-disc release in May and the extended edition around August. Well, scratch that. Here's a Jackson comment from the OneRing party regarding a prank played on Elijah Wood.
"…It's just something that we are going to put on the DVD in November for the extended Return of the King…"
So it looks like no early release for RotK.
