Like all other Vista Series DVDs, Who Framed Roger Rabbit comes in somewhat unique packaging. The shiny foil slipcover of the set removes to show a gatefold package modeled after a Valiant & Valiant locked casebook. Inside the cover flap is a vertical opening booklet modeled after a Valiant & Valiant notepad that holds information on what's on the two-disc set. Also included are signed photos of Roger and Jessica Rabbit and a $5 rebate for owners of the original DVD.

Loading up Disc One, we find a combination live action/animated menu where Benny the Cab acts as your tour guide through the DVD. On this first disc, you can visit the "Acme Warehouse" to view the Roger Rabbit animated shorts in Dolby Digital 5.1 and anamorphic widescreen, as well as a "family friendly" making-of, and a little game. The "Ink and Paint Club" features previews for Schoolhouse Rock and Ultimate X. "Valiant's Office" allows you to set up the audio and subtitle options, "Movie Theater" plays the flick as well as the scene selections, and "Maroon Cartoon Studio" prompts you to insert Disc Two.

Note: Disc One holds a full screen edition of the film with DD 5.1, while the anamorphic widescreen version with DTS or DD 5.1 is on Disc Two.


Even the animated shorts are in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1



Disc Two is absolutely packed full of extras including commentary by Robert Zemeckis, Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Price, Peter Seaman, Steve Starkey, and Ken Ralston. And yes, it's scene specific and a great listen for any fans of the flick. More details to come in the review.

The second disc takes viewers to the "Maroon Cartoon Studio" where you have access to all of the special features. There's a deleted scene, making-of information, and so much more. It's seriously an impressive array of extras, and thankfully the video quality on the disc doesn't really suffer that much due to the amount of stuff on the disc.
